# Uniform Adjacency

From Pyxis public wiki

In a Discrete Global Grid, the property of adjacent cells sharing only sides, not vertexes, such that the distances from one cell’s point to those of all its neighbours are equal. Hexagons have uniform adjacency: in a grid, each is adjacent to exactly six others. In contrast, a covering made up of squares has two kinds of adjacency: sharing a side or touching at a vertex.
