Details

A sampler is a process that is responsible for translating from X,Y space (lat, lon) into PYXIS space. This sampler takes the position of the center of the PYXIS cell and looks for a matrix of points in the X,Y data that surround the point we are interested in. We then perform a bicubic interpolation using these points to determine the value for the cell. For more information see Sampling Data.
